Each Advanced Performance Package (APP) contains a carefully selected set of services to meet a well defined target.
In APP 13: "Ensure high performance requirements continuously" the target is to ensure "The high performance requirements of your winning products are maintained and improved during the product's entire life-cycle!"
It is therefore highly recommended to protect your investment in QA of your product with all services in package APP 13!
What are the objectives?
The objectives of APP 13 services are to:

Provide timesaving quality assurance solutions during the maintenance phase of a software product and to maintain backward compatibility of performance characteristics.

Offload your organization the need to keep competence and resources for quality assurance of performance requirements of your product during the maintenance phase.
Why is this important?
Correct regression testing of performance characteristics require a base line of performance characteristics that can be hard to maintain after some years with respect to new versions of different platform software and new hardware.
Regression tests of performance characteristics are furthermore an important part of performance testing during the maintenance phase. Regression tests of performance characteristics will also affect the performance test cases and the test sites. New product features and changes to excisting fuctionality require updates of old performance test cases and additions of new. Other reasons are the use of the tested application. Most applications will over the years require support for many more users with higher demands on performance characteristics. Not only requirements on service capacity or speed of services will change but also requirements on availability, stability, and robustness to different production threats. This is the normal evolution of any application.
What services are included in APP 13?
APP 13 has currently two performance services to continuously ensure quality assurance of your product's performance requirements:
