Regression tests of performance characteristics will also affect the performance test cases. New product features and changes to excisting fuctionality require updates of old performance test cases and additions of new.
The list of performance test case maintenance changes can be very long and is not limited to the tested functionality. A performance test case has a number of other parameters that may also change.
Correct regression testing of performance characteristics require a base line of performance characteristics that can be hard to maintain after some years with respect to new versions of different platform software and new hardware. To maintain backward compatibility of performance characteristics is one of the objectives of the service group "Get Maintenance Support".
